TV Guide Elvis Collectible Covers

Imagine! Print Solutions was graced by the presence of the "King of Rock & Roll", not once, but four times...having produced a series of four TV Guide covers featuring Elvis Presley. The covers, depicting Elvis in various poses, were printed with UV inks and converted into custom holograms (produced by International Holographic Papers, Inc.). These were special collectors TV Guides issues.

Utilizing a 6-color Heidelberg CD press equipped with interstation UV curing, the covers were printed on an 85# text sheet - coated 2 sides. Imagine! applied two hits of opaque white UV ink, 4-color process UV ink and a special UV coating, all in line and fully cured. "It's a tremendous advantage for us to print on unusual substrates and have the ability to immediately finish the product, rather than waiting days or weeks for it to dry conventionally. Publishers are very attracted to the speed, quality and production capacity that our UV press provides", said Bob Lothenbach, CEO of Imagine! Print Solutions.

Substantial testing was done to ensure that the custom hologram stock and UV inks would work together. Early production issues were overcome to make this first-ever holographic TV Guide cover a tremendous success.
